FAME - Brit Youth

Another week in the theatre with Brit Youth, doing FAME :)

Has gone really fast, again. Good to see everyone though + bare good times! :')
Eh? Woah!
We all had 80's stuff on backstage so they could go on + do scene changes with lights up.
I was sat at my desk calling the show + opping lights but would be rude not to join in... Love my purple leg warmers :P

Did 3 performances today, and then the Get Out after.
Went to Mint after for a few drinks with everyone, and then back to Michelle + Steves for another 6. Didn't realise how drunk I was but was good night :) So tired now though!

We're doing 3 weeks next year 'cos they're splitting the ages from 8-11 and 12-20.
Younger kids are going Annie and the Older group are doing The Wiz! :)

Gutted my camera ran out of battery but a few people took some + got some rubbish ones on my phone.
Plotting lights...
Rehearsals...
 Mostly finished Set...
 "Think of Meryl Streep"
 "Mabels Prayer"

There has to be a totem pole photo 'cos there's one every year!

Cinderella the Panto

Have been at the theatre again today for the Get In for Cinderella the Panto.
Its good to be back + see everyone! :)

The SM (stage manager) wasn't there so they asked me to kind of take over and do that, just making sure people know what to do and running 'the book'.

The Get In went really well, no real problems and all went up really quick. I was up in the Flys + we had a few cloths, swish track and tab tracks to go up.

The dress + tech rehearsal went really well too! :)

Chicken Egg Farm Visit + Midsummer Nights Dream

Went to lectures then to "Free Range Egg Production Unit" this afternoon ... a chicken farm

We had to get our bio-security overalls + boot covers on, had a looks around, went in the sheds, stroked the chickens!
Had a look at the chain feeders, auto drinkers, nest boxes (astroturfed on a convayor belt!).
Everything is attached so that they can push a button and all the feeders, drinkers and nest boxes all raise up to the roof, the slatted boxes you can see down the middle are collapsed, and they can drive a mini quad/tractor in to push out all the dirty bedding!
The eggs are laid in the astro turf nest boxes in the middle of the shed, which rolls along like a conveyor belt + the eggs roll out:
They have the grading, stamping and packaging machines there and distribute themselves all over Wales and around Aber.

Out of the shed and outside to the range:
They have 10 acres for 3000 chickens - are allowed double that but there was a lot of space for them outside..

Gots to ask questions, they use Flubenvet but she couldn't remember what it was called "Yes! thats it!"  :P

They have a specialist poultry vet that flies around the UK in a helicopter he's so much in demand!!!

Got off the mini-bus and went straight down the hill to the theatre!

Did a tech run on the lights of Midsummer Nights Dream, then opened to the audience and did a run.

Went quite well, couple of dodgy things 'cos its a manual desk (with 48 sliders) and you can't programme cue's in like you normally would, and then just press Go.

Day after

I had to get up at 11 for my 12 o'clock lecture.
Texted Cody who lives in the flat next-door and is on my course at quarter to, to see if we were going ... "Yes"
Rolled out of bed, got ready and got to the lecture on time.

I kept jumping whenever someone sneezed or did something load!
Think I was still drunk, well, I was - I really had the urge to gambole down the ramp thing, but they wouldn't let me.
Can't really remember the lecture ngl, was the last one for that module though! :))

Got back and went to town with Becky + Ange. Sorted my flat Secret Santa present ... Pound shop FTW.
We were meant to spend a £5er but sure the budget allowed for £7.

Went to Old College at 5 for another Tech Theatre meeting for Midsummer Nights Dream.
Sorted out the Prompt Script ... they were all stressing but its like THE least tecchy show ever. The scenery wasn't finished and we open tomorrow!
Finished the scenery and made props and then left at 9ish.

RENT - TASM

Had a meeting about RENT at quarter past 10! :P
They opened applications for positions and I applied for LX operator, got a email saying if I didn't mind they wouldn't put me in for that but something "more exciting but won't discuss over email" ... okayy.

Went to Rosser Lounge + he asked what I could do, what I'd done before + stuff
... they offered me Technical Assistant Stage Manager!

Walk on the Wild Side

Just been watching these Walk on the Wild Side videos ... LOLZ

Reminds me of sitting in the Green Room inbetween the matinee and evening show of Footloose - me + Alex watching it wetting ourselves and trying to be quiet 'cos Sarah was asleep on the sofa!
Good times
ALAN!!
